The Death of Ryan Wilson

Ryan Wilson was a 29 year old white man from Belvidere.

On November 8th, 2010, around 10 PM, Ryan was found unconscious in the bathroom of a fast food restaurant. According to his obituary, he was enrolled in substance abuse counseling at Rock Valley College and was an active member of Narcotics Anonymous.

Police alleged Ryan was found with a hypodermic syringe. Rockford Police Department officers responded and briefly transported him to a local hospital before taking him to jail.

This became the first case investigated and justified by the Winnebago Boone County Integrity Task Force, then known as the Winnebago County Integrity Task Force. It was also the second deadly force incident involving police in Winnebago County during the 2010s.
